Cosina Announces Voigtlander 17.5mm f/0.95 Nokton ASPH
Cosina has announced a new Voigtlander 17.5mm f/0.95 ASPH lens, which joins their existing 25mm f/0.95 lens as the fastest available lenses for Micro Four Thirds.

Like the 25mm f/0.95 Nokton, the new 17.5mm lens is manual focus only.

Given manual focus only, a starting price of 1300 EUR, and a weight of 540g, this is a specialty lens. No doubt it...

Rumor: Meet the Olympus E-M5 (OM-D)

Written by mu-43
As many of you have seen, someone (most likely Olympus) has been leaking - a slow, steady drip kind of leak - cropped bits of photos of the upcoming OM-styled Olympus Micro 4/3 camera, which is by all accounts going to be called the E-M5.

Various folks have been creating Photoshop composites of the leaked crops to try and demonstrate how the...

Mu-43.com is moving to a better server

Written by mu-43
At some point within the next few days, we'll be moving to a new server with more resources. Ultimately that should provide better site performance, but there are likely to be a few hiccups. The site may go down briefly, and you may experience issues for up to a couple days as DNS propagation occurs. In the meanwhile, I'll post any and all...

Update on Panasonic Leica DG Summilux Clicking Noise on Olympus Pen Bodies

Written by mu-43
There has been a fair amount of discussion about clicking aperture noises coming from the Panasonic Leica 25mm f/1.4 DG Summilux lens when used on Olympus PEN bodies, and I reached out to contacts at Panasonic regarding this issue.

The folks at Panasonic were responsive, able to reproduce the problem, and quickly determined that it is likely an...

Featured forum post: GX1 Initial Impressions and a Sample ISO 1600 Image

Written by mu-43
So, despite being very happy with my pair of GF1 bodies, I had to see if there was credence to Panasonic's claims regarding the GX1. I picked up a black GX1 body this past Tuesday.

Getting the GX1 customized to the same settings that I use on my GF1 took some doing .. the menus are much the same but there's no Dynamic B&W setting and I found...

My EPM1 Review

Written by mu-43
The EPM1 is the first camera that has moved me in the same way like the EP1 did two years ago. So, I sold the EP1 and now I have the EPM1 as my walk-around, and the EPL2 for long and legacy lenses.

One of the best things about the EPM1? It only cost me $440 with the kit lens (so, the body really only cost $300) leaving me with enough money to...
